Solid cored pure calcium wire is manufactured by rolling and crimping a calcium wire core within an outer steel strip, ensuring tight mechanical interlocking. Following ladle refining, the wire is fed into the molten steel using a wire-feeding device at a feeding rate of 60–120 m/s and a dosage of 0.8–1.5 m per tonne; it is suitable for calcium treatment during ladle refining.
The double-layer solid-core pure calcium wire is constructed by wrapping a calcium wire with an inner steel strip and then crimping the outer steel strip to ensure tight engagement; the thickened steel strips enable the calcium wire to be inserted deeper into the molten steel.
Solid calcium-aluminum wire is manufactured by wrapping a calcium wire with an inner aluminum sheath and then crimping the outer steel strip around it.
Solid-core calcium-silicon wire is manufactured by wrapping an outer steel strip around an inner core of calcium wire and ferrosilicon powder, with the edges crimped and interlocked during rolling.
