Description
Solid-core calcium-silicon wire is manufactured by wrapping an outer steel strip around an inner core of calcium wire and ferrosilicon powder, with the edges crimped and interlocked during rolling.
①. When used for calcium treatment of molten steel, the cored wire exhibits enhanced penetration through the molten steel during feeding, resulting in a substantial increase in the recovery rate of metallic calcium and enabling it to replace conventional silicon-calcium powder cored wires.
②. The introduction of ferrosilicon powder not only cools the molten steel locally but also enhances the solubility of calcium in the molten steel, thereby significantly reducing nitrogen uptake and further improving calcium recovery.
