Description
It is produced by coating metal calcium with a specified proportion of iron powder. The core powder material consists of 25–35% calcium particles and the remainder iron powder, which is then encased in strip steel to form cored wire. Its primary applications are as deoxidizing and desulfurizing agents in the steelmaking process.
①. Adding calcium-iron wire during the steelmaking process can prevent the formation of elongated sulfide inclusions, thereby improving the anisotropy of the steel.
②. The wire-feeding device enables rapid injection of molten steel, which is thoroughly melted and dissolved at the deep level of the molten pool, thereby reducing nozzle clogging and achieving deoxidation, desulfurization, and inclusion removal.
③. It enables fine-tuning of other alloying elements, thereby increasing the recovery rates of metals and rare-earth elements and ensuring compositional stability. It also reduces the amount of precious elements added, thus lowering refining costs.
